We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Data Scientist to work on various projects in the energy sector, collaborating with industry-leading companies and organizations!

Your day to day

You will be working in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, so you can never expect to have just another typical day at work. Sometimes you will feel out of your comfort zone, but you will probably never feel bored! 

As part of the team, you will work with Solution Architects, Developers, Data Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and QAs to ensure the validity of work. You will also liaise with clients and stakeholders as part of a project team. You will be using the latest tools, techniques and methodologies.

On any particular day you will be doing several of the following:

  • Brainstorming with Data Scientist and BI teams for data-driven concepts, Data Engineer teams for technical and scalability issues, and Product / CRX teams for business needs.
  • Translate business requirements to machine learning problems.
  • Conduct R&D, build cloud-based services and follow best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand the business and develop data-driven insights that are both on a strategic & operational level.
  • Researching related technologies or platforms for detecting opportunities.
  • Implement ETL processes for fetching raw data.
  • Focus on data preparation / transformation / augmentation.
  • Evaluate / monitor existing models in production and enhance them based on business needs.
  • Conducting predictive analytics using historical data.
  • Apply hyper-parameter tuning stages.

Requirements

Your professional expertise


In order to be considered you need to have:

  • Advanced Python knowledge.
  • Experience in the Energy industry and/or working on projects for Energy sector clients.
  • Good knowledge of machine learning algorithms and respective theory (ensemble models, Bayesian learning, classification-regression-clustering tasks, structured and unstructured data, feature importance, explainability).
  • Experience with sklearn, Pandas, NumPy and use of Jupyter Notebooks for prototyping ML tasks.
  • Ability to perform EDA and feature engineering in real-life projects.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist in a commercial environment.

Also you must meet at least 3 of the following requirements:

  • 1+ year experience with SQL.
  • Hands on experience with ML in production
  • Good knowledge of Recommendation engines and customer segmentation techniques.
  • Familiarity with time-series forecasting models and related libraries (e.g., sktime, gluonTS).
  • Interpretability / explainability methods of tabular or raw data.
  • Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow or Pytorch) applied in practical use cases.
  • Experience with Cloud Services (preferably Azure Databricks / AWS).


In essence, you have the necessary skills to:

  • Define key-metrics, dashboards & data strategy for monitoring and optimization.
  • Analyse data across various sources and estimate their impact / importance.
  • Create and optimize predictive pipelines based on performance metrics / business needs / model complexity.
  • Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
  • Present information using data visualization techniques and support findings.
  • Interpersonal skills and subject knowledge to meet business needs.

You will stand out if you have:

  • Experience with BI tools.
  • 1+ years experience with R.
  • Experience with Spark or other scaling recipes.
  • Software background in OOP.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and / or Knowledge Graphs.
