Data Scientist III
Job Description
YOu will work with the other members of the StoreConnect development team to develop, implement, and maintain the algorithms necessary to analyze data gathered by IoT devices. Individually responsible for the development, implementation, support, and integration of new data analysis routines and algorithms into an existing commercial product. This will include development in Python and requires familiarity with both SQL and no-SQL databases. Responsible for the performance and verification of the newly integrated software. You will report to the Senior Software Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of data analysis routines and algorithms used to assess the health and operating efficiency of commercial refrigeration systems
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
- Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
- Integrate with existing data storage solutions and data access APIs
- Develop tests to verify integrated solution
- Write robust code that can operate in 24/7 processing environment
- Review the work of, mentor, and delegate work to junior team members
- Present findings and draw business conclusions from analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive data analysis experience
- 3+ years proven track record of being able to integrate subject matter expertise with data science techniques to produce real world solutions
- Proficient with standard data science techniques including preparing data for analysis and modeling
- Expertise with testing, analyzing, and applying algorithms to time-series data to find anomalies, trends, and model fitment.
- Proficient with common data science toolkits, such as Python, SciPy, NumPy, etc.
- Experience developing, integrating code into an existing code base, and using version control
- Experience with one or more of SQL, document databases, graph databases

- Strong communications and documentation skills
- Familiar with cloud computing and cloud hosting services
- Familiar with Linux environment
- Knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems and thermodynamics

The salary or hourly range of $$85,800 – $165,000 is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
