Data Scientist – Intern

Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for an Intern Data Scientist to join our Valencia office.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and implement AI-driven systems for automated data collection and real-time data processing from global maritime sources.
• Engineer dynamic geofencing algorithms to define operational boundaries of ports and improve maritime situational awareness.
• Work closely with development teams to integrate AI models into existing company platforms, ensuring robust functionality and user-centric design.
• Conduct rigorous testing and quality assurance of all systems and features, documenting results and optimizing performance.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation and deliver presentations to stakeholders to demonstrate system capabilities and benefits.

Qualifications: 

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171 

Working conditions: 

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
