Job Purpose:
We are seeking a highly experienced Database developer to lead and contribute to data integration, transformation, and optimization efforts across multiple platforms. This individual will bring in-depth knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and Azure-based tools, working collaboratively with data architects, BI developers, and internal stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, scalability, and performance.

Requirements

  • Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to translate business use cases into data analysis and mapping requirements.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to move, cleanse, and transform large datasets across Oracle, SQL Server, and Azure SQL.
  • Provide source-to-target mappings, data flow diagrams, and thorough documentation of data integration processes.
  • Work closely with the Data Architect and BI teams to support data modeling and analytics.
  • Lead junior developers (1–2 team members) in implementing scalable ETL solutions using industry-standard patterns and practices.
  • Design and maintain database objects (tables, views, indexes), manage database security, and optimize storage structures.
  • Utilize Azure tools (Azure Data Studio, Azure Analytics Studio, Azure Data Factory) to build and manage cloud-based data solutions.
  • Maintain data integrity through robust audit controls, testing, validation, and documentation procedures.
  • Optimize batch data processing through parallelization and performance tuning techniques.
  • Monitor system reliability and troubleshoot data integrity or performance issues in Azure environments.
  • Utilize GitHub and CI/CD pipelines for source control and deployment automation.
  • Provide occasional after-hours support as needed.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server and advanced T-SQL scripting.
  • 5+ years of experience using SSIS and stored procedures for ETL development.
  • 3–5 years of experience with Azure SQL VMs, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure data services.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design, data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical), and data governance best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • 1–2 years of experience with Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Experience with Python, PySpark, and SparkSQL in Azure Cloud environments.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in a related data engineering or BI role.
