The Opportunity:
Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges.
As a senior platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to affect mission-forward change. On our team, you’ll hone your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform experience, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process.
You’ll recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll continue to strengthen your DevOps skills while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.

You Have:

5+ years of experience as a cloud security engineer, DevSecOps engineer, or software engineer

3+ years of experience with containerization, including Docker, Podman Buildah, AWS EKS, ECR, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
-
Experience with Terraform, AWS, CI tools, including Jenkins, Tekton, CircleCI, GitlabCI, AWS CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions and programming languages, including Python or Golang

Experience with policy-as-code solutions, including Checkov, Open Policy Agent, or Trivy IaC scanning

Experience with developing and implementing custom scalable platform engineering or security solutions across multi-region cloud and hybrid environments

Experience with software and cloud architectural design patterns, including Queue-based load leveling, API Composition, Backend for Frontends, API Gateways, or Microservices

Knowledge of key cloud native application concepts, including 12 factor apps, migration strategies, or immutability

Ability to work across multiple operating systems and technology stacks in an Agile environment with multiple cross-functional teams

Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with Cloud, DevOps, or Software in lieu of a degree
Nice If You Have:

Experience in resolving or assisting with the resolution of production issues in established ITSM constructs, including Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Operational Level of Agreement (OLA)

Cloud Certification, including AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Networking, AWS Machine Learning, AWS Security, Certified DevSecOps Professional from Practical DevSecOps or GIAC Cloud Security Automation
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
