We are excited to invite applications to join the Hill’s Digital Applications group within our Global Information Technology Organization (GIT) as a Data Strategist, Digital Data supporting our Vet & Pet digital experiences. You will join an agile team, helping to drive the build of a variety of high-profile applications using modern tools and infrastructure including Snowflake, Customer Data Platforms, Customer Identity & Access Management, and Marketing Cloud solutions. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to help realize our vision. A successful candidate will be driven to understand business goals and implement high-quality solutions that deliver performance, maintainability and scalability, using leading cloud-based marketing technology to digitally connect. This role will involve planning, business and data analysis, functional and technical design, as well as close partnership and interaction with the Digital Marketing and IT teams to support the deployment of new technology to optimize and expand digital engagement programs leading to better targeting and engagement with our professionals, customers and consumers.
Please note that this role can be based in Piscataway, NJ or Kansas City, Kansas.
What you will do
- Partner with the Digital and Brand Marketing teams to define use cases for digital marketing data activation, advance first party data collection, integration and accessibility efforts with a strong focus on data driven marketing strategy and technologies
- Develop a comprehensive view and knowledge of our consumer and professional ecosystem and data model including, marketing, commerce and transactional data
- Analyze, produce and develop analytics solutions in order to build new or improve existing Data models and analytics products
- Translate business campaign requirements into technical requirements and build use case specific data products/marts
- Support the build and enhancement of Hill’s Data Model by working closely with cross-functional teams
- Grow the use of CDP and other MarTech in data driven use cases, campaign activation and general adoption through strategy to integrate a broader spectrum of first-party datasets
- Participate in data architecture designs ensuring they align with standard processes and overall management including: data ingestion, processing & validation, transformation and modeling
- Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies by finding the root cause of issues; work with partners across various cross-functional teams to prevent future occurrences
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years of professional experience working in IT/Data Analytics within Digital/Marketing Domain
- Proficient in Python and SQL
- Understanding of Customer Data Platform and experience in enabling activation ready use cases
- Hands-on experience with data integration, data transformation frameworks, tools, and methodologies
- Familiarity with governmental privacy regulations on the collection and use of customer data (such a GDPR and CCPA) and how this impacts customer data management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity – in business requirements, technology options and project direction
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering
- 5 years of minimum work experience
- Experience working in a DTC, B2B & B2C business environment
- Knowledge of data management concepts like data modeling and warehousing
- Familiarity with Airflow, DBT and pipeline automation
- Familiarity with Web & Marketing Technologies & APIs
- Experience with Snowflake and/or GCP
- Familiarity with Agile Methodology and SCRUM
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $100,000.00 – $134,400.00 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
- Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
- Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate’s 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
- Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
- Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
- Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
- Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
