Job Description
MetLife established a Data and Analytics center in Hyderabad to scale and mature Data and Analytics capabilities in a cost-effective manner and make MetLife future ready. The center is integral to Global Data and Analytics’ talent strategy with a focus to protect & build MetLife IP, promote reusability and drive experimentation and innovation. The team in India mirrors the global DnA team with focus across Data science, Enterprise business intelligence, Data Governance, Data Quality, Solutions Engineering and Agile Delivery. In partnership with Business, IT, DnA colleagues in other geographies, the team has been delivering data & analytics solutions for the Enterprise across lines of businesses, corporate functions, markets, and products.
Role Value Proposition
To drive the development and delivery of end-to-end data solutions for key insurance business functions such as claims service &operations, customer acquisition, customer engagement & retention, distribution, investments, marketing, risk management and underwriting. The role will collaborate with partners from Business, operations, technology and risk management functions to develop scalable and responsible data solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Architect, design and lead the development and delivery of efficient, scalable, and trustworthy data layers.
- Conduct source system analyses, understand current state technology and data infrastructure (on-prem, cloud) assess future state information needs and recommend data solutions.
- Author business & functional requirement documents, design for data delivery.
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to co-create solutions.
- Contribute to developing Data roadmaps. Deliver solutions with transformational impact to the Enterprise.
- Engage in open-ended conversations, navigate through ambiguous situations, and develop clarity.
- Deliver products and solutions in a timely, proactive, and entrepreneurial manner.
- Institutionalize best practices, contribute to research and experimentation efforts.
- Accelerate solution delivery using re-usable frameworks, prototypes, and hackathons.
- Empathy led engagement with focus on stakeholder motivation, needs and aspirations.
- People leadership: talent acquisition, coaching and mentoring team.
Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical Requirement
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in an information technology/computer science or relevant domain.
- 16+ years of solutions development experience, including 12+ years in data products & solutions delivery.
- Azure, Hadoop/Databricks, Hive, SQL.
- Solution architecture, data architecture, data analysis. Solutioning skills to build trustworthy and efficient data layers for a variety of consumption needs such as reporting, advanced analytics, AI, data APIs et al
- Data classification, data lineage, data profiling, data quality, data transformation and data validation.
- Datawarehouse, data fabric, data lakes, data marts, data mesh, data stores.
- Experience working with large and complex internal, external, structured, and unstructured datasets.
- Responsible development of Data solutions. Technical documentation for solutions.
- Agile methodologies & tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; discuss technical issues with peers, business stakeholders and senior management.
- Industry knowledge about emerging Cloud, Data trends, tools and technologies
Preferred:

- AI in Cloud
