Join us! GoFundMe is seeking a Director, Data Science and Analytics who believes in the impact of GoFundMe and is passionate about our mission to help people help others. In this role, you will integrate seamlessly into our Data Team and will oversee a team of data scientists and analysts who will employ model building and analytics to answer complex business questions for stakeholders across the business. As one of the key leaders of our data organization, you’ll be in charge of establishing the vision, formulating the strategy, and taking ownership of the planning and successful implementation of our business decision making data products.

The Job…

  • Regularly monitor KPIs and deliver performance reports with actionable insights across the company.
  • Present data-driven recommendations in meetings with senior leadership. 
  • Working backwards from customers and utilizing data analysis to guide, create and manage a comprehensive product roadmap for the Business, Product and Marketing Analytics self-service tools, outlining key milestones, features, and release plans, while effectively prioritizing based on customer value and business impact. 
  • Foster out of the box thinking and modeling analytical creativity to solve business problems leveraging data. 
  • Manage and develop data scientists, data engineers, and business intelligence analysts to translate technical capabilities into user centric features and experiences, ensuring alignment and efficient execution. 
  • Determine and prioritize the team’s work based on business needs. 
  • Data-informed decision-making: Use A/B Testing, market research, usability studies, and competitive analysis to drive product decisions. 
  • Transform complex datasets into comprehensible visual representations, including advanced dashboard creation. 
  • Develop media measurement and attribution models to guide Marketing initiatives. 

You…

  • 10 years’ + experience in analytics or data science with at least 5 years in a management role 
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into actionable analytics projects
  • Executive-level communication skills; strong communicator with the ability to bring people together to define a common vision and plan for action. 
  • Technical proficiency in understanding and working with data, including expertise in data analytics, data pipelines and a good understanding of statistics, machine learning and AI concepts. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, understand technical constraints, and opportunities, and translating them into product features. 
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with designers, engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Humility and willingness to dissect your decisions made, to constantly iterate towards the best version of your product-self. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • MBA or MSc in a quantitative field or technical degree.

The total annual salary for this full-time position is $235,000 – $318,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.  As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
