This role is within Capital One’s Enterprise Product and Experience (EPX) Operations team. Spanning Enterprise Data, Marketing Technology, AI/ML and more, EPX brings digital products and experiences to life for Capital One customers and associates. In this role, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for Product Council Initiatives aimed at enabling and growing the Product job family. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with leaders in Product and Tech to develop and pilot a standard approach to building innovative products at Capital One, including the potential build of an internally built product or evaluation of vender-owned product(s) to support Product Managers through product ideation, creation, and iteration.
Detailed responsibilities and key topics include:Work closely with leaders in Product, Tech, and Business Analysis to develop and pilot a standard approach to building innovative products at Capital One, including processes, tools, and templatesOwn the strategy, roadmap, and execution for rolling out and continuously improving the product development life cycle at Capital OneEvaluate and eventually own product management responsibilities for internal or vender-owned product(s) to support the product development lifecycleCoordinate with the Learning & Development team to integrate these elements into Product College trainings and resourcesLead 1 or more direct reports and work with cross-functional teams, with the potential for growthGeneral Responsibilities:Strategic leadership: Develop business strategies that will drive growth, profitability, and competitive success for Capital One in the face of shifting consumer and regulatory demands Leadership: May manage and develop multiple analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Capital One Product: Partner with Product Managers, Design and Engineering to build the best products for both Capital One and its partnersExecution: Coordinate across the line of business to manage and sequence delivery of business intent, build business requirements and execute against the product strategy.
Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrentlyPartnership: Work closely with colleagues across Capital One including: Tech, Product, Design and others to drive improvement in quality, volume, service, and profitabilityStrong business judgment, leadership and integrity: Be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a healthy, aggressive, yet responsible approach to businessStrong executive communication skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skillsClear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Previous consulting experience is a plus Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in any quantitative field (Business, Math, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Science, Engineering)At least 7 years of experience in analysis Preferred Qualifications:Master’s Degree 2+ years of experience in financial services 1+ years of experience in product management1+ year of experience in consulting At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked. Chicago, IL: $205,400 – $234,400 for Director, Product Management
