Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. What will you do?
- The Director – Risk Data Strategy is an instrumental role in the development, design, and coordination of the data strategy for the Global Functions Technology group. This includes end of day position and trade data, real time transaction data, and non financial risk data.
- Work with various risk and finance teams to understand and document gaps in existing data strategy framework
- Create data strategy target state roadmap
- Develop plan for addressing user irritants
- Identify programs and projects to partner with to progress the data strategy
- Collaborate with the chief data office (CDO) to realize the target state
- Champion strategic data offerings
- Manage software teams to develop data tools related to data quality, lineage, cataloging, and classification
- The candidate must have a strong data domain background pertaining to risk and finance. Strong communication and soft skills are necessary to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Strong business understanding of Credit Risk, Market risk, Data Science, Data analysis, Data management
- Strong aptitude for Hadoop, Spark, OpenShift, Tableau
- Relational databases: an intermediate knowledge of relational database concepts and how to interact with databases using SQL is required.
- Experience in Regulatory
- Experience in Credit Modeling and Credit strategy
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with IBM Watson
