BR&T is looking for a high performing, collaborative Electromagnetic Effects Research Engineer/Physicist to join our team in North Charleston, SC. This role will evaluate, analyze, and measure EM properties of advanced materials and configurations. Successful candidates will also develop new EM digital engineering processes to be deployed across the Boeing Enterprise and into the supplier network.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate (level 2), mid-level (level 3), and senior (level 4) engineers.

We are seeking engineers who share a passion for advanced materials and digital engineering process development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop workflows for electromagnetic effects analysis and simulation

  • Conduct testing to characterize materials in electromagnetic environments

  • Assists in developing and validating requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components

  • Collaborate in the development and validation of electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures

  • Collaborate in developing architectures to integrate components into higher level systems and platforms

  • Performs trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component and interconnects performance and to optimize design around established requirements

  • Defines and conducts simple tests to validate performance of designs to requirements

  • Collects and analyzes data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements

  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by recommending engineering solutions to issues

  • Supports project management by preparing and presenting project status data

  • Writes proposals to support development of new business

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with electromagnetics engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 6+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in physics, electrical engineering, or aerospace

  • Experience with computational electromagnetic software

  • Experience with lightning direct effects, lighting in-direct effects, or HIRF

  • Experience with software language (i.e., Python, MATLAB, C++)

  • Experience with high voltage/high current test apparatus

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for associate: $79,900 – $108,100

Summary pay range for mid-level: $97,750 – $132,250

Summary pay range for senior: $118,150 – $159,850
