Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience with software development in Java, Swift, or TypeScript.
  • 3 years of mobile-specific product and UI design experience, including apps for Android and iOS.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management and cross-functional partnerships.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience leading engineering teams building user-facing products, including mobile applications.
  • Experience designing, maintaining, and improving engineering systems.
  • Experience and technical leadership in Android.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence key decisions, or drive urgency on key priorities.

Photos is one of the most sought after products at Google and is looking for both client-side (web and mobile), with server-side (search, storage, serving) and machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) Software Engineers. We are dedicated to making Google experiences centered around the user.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Manage, support, and grow a team of mobile and web engineers, leading and influencing the team culture.
  • Drive technical projects and inspire the team to innovate, design, and implement functionality that will improve the Photos offerings in Organization and Search.
  • Collaborate to set the long-term technical strategy and engineering goals for the Organization and Search mobile and web teams.
  • Manage team processes, releases and interrupts, and enable execution of the roadmap across teams and functions.
  • Collaborate with UX, and other teams and leads.
