Job Description

Seeking an Analyst level US Equity Quantitative Strategist for a NY-based position within a top-ranked sell-side research team. 

 

As an analyst on the US Equity Quantitative team, you will sit with the global team of quant strategists. This team is responsible for building systematic investment strategies for equities including timing/rotation/allocation models leveraging statistical and machine learning techniques. Our research publications are broadly distributed and are followed by a  variety of buyside clients and internal partners (Sales & Trading, Research). Team sits within the Global Market Strategy team and coordinates on market views from macro and quantitative angles. You will be part of the Global Macro Quantitative and Derivative Strategies (QDS) team composed of strategists across the globe.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and monitor quantitative models and strategies for equity trading and investment. 
  • Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to conduct in-depth analysis of market data, identify trends, patterns, opportunities and improve predictive models.
  • Help write detailed research publications on the strategies and also provide on-going commentary on them.
  • Stay abreast of market developments, macro changes, and emerging technologies in the financial industry.
  • Address queries on all of the above from clients, work on customized client projects and support internal partners (Sales & Trading, Research).

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Education in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python (a must), Matlab, R.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of financial platforms such as Bloomberg, Factset, Capital IQ.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
