Job Description

AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seeking an ETL Developer to support the design, development, testing, and implementation of a technical solution to extract data from hundreds of source tables, separating the data by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Component, and load data into a target data schema.  This effort is part of a larger implementation of a new COTS-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for a complex Financial Systems Modernization (FSM). Responsibilities Include: 

  • Extract and load data using complex programming languages and using Informatica
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and support requirements sessions
  • Develop SQL in AWS PostGres database queries
  • Work with Lead Informatica Developer to develop strategies for extraction and load
  • Work closely with analysts to ensure requirements are flushed out and ready for development
  • Create data visualizations using Power BI
  • Working experience and a good understanding of Agile methodology and using Jira
  • Coordinating with data owners to validate data (e.g., reconciling transaction details to summary records such as commitments and obligations to General Ledger (GL) balances)
  • Prepare and assist with unit and end-to-end integration migration test plans (including testing for data extraction, transformation, data loading, and data validation)
  • Support development of requirements, perform data analysis, and prepare data for data conversion activities

    Education Requirements:

    •  Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems)

    Experience Requirements:

    • 3+ years of experience in SQL, data extraction, separation, loading, migration, analysis, and conversion activities
    • 2+ years of experience using Informatica Power Center
    • 2+ years of experience using Informatica Developer
    • Experience in SQL server programming language
    • Experience in data visualization using Power BI
    • Experience with working in a PostGresDB environment
    • Possess intermediate experience using Power BI and SQL to run queries and perform analysis
    • Experience working with SharePoint and ServiceNow to support stakeholders
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
    • Prior experience supporting Federal government customers

      Desired Requirements:

      • At least three years of experience using Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS)
      • Experienced in supporting Federal SAP S/4 Hana business application development and data migration using a requirements-driven lifecycle process 
      • Experience working within DHS
      • Self-starter and is quick to learn and put new skills to use
      • Strong analytical skills, and strong written/oral communication skills
      • Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems
      • Strong attention to detail, time management, and follow-through
      • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
      • Active DHS clearance (EOD)

        • REMOTE (Local to Washington, DC) 

        Security Requirements:     

        •  Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
        • This role supports a government agency which requires U.S. citizenship
