Job Summary: We are currently seeking an ETL developer to design and implement ETL processes. You will build ETL pipelines to ingest the data from heterogeneous sources into our system. You should have excellent business and communication skills and be able to work with business owners to understand their data requirements and help them make data-related decisions using your ETL knowledge and experience.

The job role might also require you to learn new tools and technologies fast, and you should have in-depth database knowledge as well as basic programming and scripting skills. You will help to build efficient and stable data pipelines which can be easily maintained in the future. You should have expertise in the design, creation, management, and business use of large datasets.

 

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Key development team member is highly analytical and detail-oriented requiring extensive familiarity with DW ETL and data integration in MSSQL, data modelling, development, while implementing standardized methods to improve data reliability and quality for multiple SaaS application products and services.
  • The primary responsibility of the ETL Developer in this position will be to engage in the development and deployment of detailed conceptual, logical, physical data models for on premises, hybrid and cloud-based databases, data warehouse, and operational data store.
  • This position will require paying attention to performance issues, including impact on query and reporting performance for production workloads.
  • Will also be responsible for supporting data naming, and metadata standardization, data transformation, and data API interoperability.
  • The position will require transitioning between projects, as work is completed on one and new work arises in another. The position requires a core expertise in MS SQL, Azure Cloud Data Services, data standards, schema design, and modelling tool management.
  • Must also have excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong initiative, and the ability to manage multiple and varied tasks simultaneously in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.

 

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

 

EDUCATION:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering 

 

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • 4+ years of Information Technology experience with a focus on data warehousing, ETL development, and data modelling.
  • 2+ years of DB Development using MS SQL

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Data Services or any cloud platform is a plus
  • Exposure to Designing and developing dashboard on Power BI is a plus

 

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES:

 

  • Experience on SSIS or equivalent ETL tool is must.
  • Experience in analysing, designing, and developing ETL packages on SSIS.
  • Experience in T-SQL and a programming language.
  • Experience with stored procs, PL/SQL 
  • Strong experience in performance tuning and monitoring of database queries
  • Expertise in analysing SQL performance, load, and concurrent use issues in an architecture that involves multiple components/services and replication to external databases.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends to meet target dates.
  • Prepare documentation for further reference.
