What you’ll do:
The Financial Data Analyst is responsible for identifying nuanced trends, intricate patterns, and potential anomalies in financial information. This role is focused on reconciliation and reporting.This seasoned professional is adept at providing sophisticated insights that enable stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of the company’s financial well-being, assess risks with precision, and pinpoint strategic opportunities for both growth and optimization. Serving as a key driver in financial performance management reporting, the Financial Data Analyst adds strategic depth and expertise to elevate the organization’s decision-making processes. The Financial Data Analyst significantly contributes to the organization’s strategic financial success and ensures a high level of data-driven decision-making throughout the company.
How you’ll make an impact

Provide regular, in-depth strategic monthly report, highlighting critical analytics and metrics results.

Lead the development and maintenance of sophisticated advanced financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to refine assumptions and guide strategic financial planning.

Act as the SQL Query expert to craft and optimize complex SQL queries with a focus on efficiency, supporting financial reporting and decision-making processes. Leverage advanced analytical tools and techniques to identify opportunities for process improvements and operational streamlining.

Identify opportunities for automation, process enhancement and spearhead the development of scripts or workflows to streamline routine tasks, significantly improving overall operational efficiency.

Data Governance and Quality Enhancement Oversee the enhancement of data quality in GBQ tables owned by the Financial Data Analysis team through regular process reviews and audits. Collaborate with other data teams within the organization to ensure compliance with approved policies and procedures for data collection and analysis

Advanced Analytics and Modeling Techniques – Apply a deep understanding of data visualization to effectively communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Engage in predictive modeling, time series analysis, and maintain a working knowledge of machine learning model development, evaluation, and validation.

Strategic Focus on Gross Margin and Profitability- Drive initiatives to increase gross margin and profitability, leveraging analytical insights to inform strategic decisions and actions across the organization.

Proactive Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis – Respond promptly to ad-hoc requests for financial analysis, delivering timely and insightful reports that support decision-making at various organizational levels

As the subject matter expert (SME), provide mentorship and guidance to other financial data team members fostering a collaborative environment, based on best practices in data storytelling, reporting, and analytics.

What you’ll bring to the role

3-5 years experience in a business analyst role or financial analyst role

Experience in data analysis and data engineering
-
Financial and accounting experience (Accounting designation preferred – CPA/CMA/CGA)

SQL, Google Big Query, Google sheets and Python

Power BI and data visualization

Data modeling and Data mining
-
Data and Business analysis

Critical-thinking and problem-solving

Verbal and written communication skills to prepare and present to non-financial stakeholders and college

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business or related field

Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
