Founding AI Engineer @ Kindroid

Overview:

Kindroid makes virtual people that enrich real people’s lives. Since launch last June, we’ve been the joybringer for hundreds of thousands of people, who’ve created and customized their unique virtual companion with custom backstories, memories, appearances, and voices. We’re growing explosively, having grown from 0 to $1M ARR in less than 6 months of founding and growing 25% month-over-month. We’re a lean, 2-person team and are already profitable. We’ve been featured on New Yorker & Business Insider, and are backed by some of the best investors in Silicon Valley. 

We are looking for a Founding AI Engineer to work on improving the core LLM, as well as for AI media generation focused on images, animation, and audio. You’ll be designing ML models, architecting inference to serve millions of users, developing data pipelines, iterating models with users, designing new product features, and more. 

The ideal type of person we want to work with is someone who has a past track record of learning fast, adapting quickly, and iterating scrappily, all while maintaining a keen focus on attention to engineering detail.

Must-Have:

Experience or education with AI & systems engineering.

Experience in applied machine learning.

Bachelors (or more advanced degrees) in computer science.

Preferred:

Experience in applied ML in traditional NLP/modern LLM settings, or applied ML for media (image, video, audio).

Knowledge and experience of open-source tools, datasets, and infrastructure for finetuning & serving LLMs, or for media generation (stable diffusion, deforum, animatediff). 

Polished, completed past projects that show attention to detail in engineering.

Full-stack application dev experience in React, Nextjs, Node.

Remote accepted, but strong preference for people located in/willing to relocate to Los Angeles.
