Aviva Ireland have an exciting opportunity in our General Insurance Business at our Cherrywood, Dublin office for a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. This role offers an excellent chance to develop new skills and advance your experience in a dynamic and innovative AI environment.

Reporting to the Innovation & Technical Pricing Lead the successful candidate will be an integral part of the team, driving change and helping to overcome barriers to adopting more efficient work practices within the organisation. They will also lead the practical application of cutting-edge AI projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to the development of next-generation AI solutions for our customers and much more!

This role is based in our Cherrywood, Dublin 18 office and adhere to Aviva’s hybrid working policy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of Gen AI systems.​
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical and professional growth.​
  • Oversee data collection, pre-processing, and management strategies.​
  • Ensure AI solutions are scalable, high-performing, and reliable.​
  • Work towards publishing research papers.​ Implement container orchestration for large-scale deployments.​
  • Develop advanced prompt strategies to optimize generative AI models.​

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field advantageous.
  • Substantial experience in AI/ML development.
  • Expertise in multiple machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Advanced skills in prompt engineering and fine-tuning generative AI models.
  • Proven ability to implement the latest AI research into practical, scalable solutions.
