About the team
The Location Intelligence Engineering team is part of the Delivery Experience (DEX) area in Allegro. We focus on development of geospatial solutions supporting the company’s internal delivery network expansion process in Last Mile (i.e. OneBox parcel machines, Same Day delivery) and Middle Mile (network of warehouses and logistics centers) both in Poland and abroad. The unique scale and complexity of the problems we solve every day give us the opportunity to develop in very diverse projects that include the aspect of geospatial (GIS) data, tools and software. We create and maintain data structures that provide information support for business teams.
As a Geospatial Data Engineer specializing in geospatial technologies, you will help us transform Allegro’s rich data resources and external environmental data into the Big Geodata product and help us build a number of applications and geospatial tools supporting multi-dimensional business around our platform. Help us open Allegro to the world of spatial technologies and geospatial data!
We are looking for people who:
- Have experience in working with geospatial databases using GIS technology (i.e. PostgreSQL + PostGIS)
- Are interested in geospatial technologies and want to develop in this direction (knowledge of the ArcGIS Enterprise environment will be a great advantage).
- Can optimize SQL queries in traditional database engines(e.g. PostgreSQL)
- Can and like programming in Python
- Have at least 2 years of commercial experience working with GIS data
- Are open to learning in various areas: backend, big data, analytics, product work, data visualization, and for those interested also in the area of statistics and data science
- Apply good practices (clean code, code review, TDD, CI/CD);
- Have a positive attitude and teamwork skills
- Expect work that has a deeper meaning (not just “ordered by management”) and they want to enjoy its results
- Want to be proud of the code they create. They willingly accept comments and share knowledge during code reviews
- Are able to look for effective solutions to the requirements set by users
- Want to constantly develop and update their knowledge
- Have a positive attitude and teamwork skills
- Have a higher technical education (preferred field of study: computer science, geodesy, geoinformatics or related fields)

Why is it worth working with us?
