As a Geospatial Software/Data Engineer in IT & Data – Data Management, in a team with great colleagues, you will be a strong technical contributor around Geospatial data and a driver to secure the best processes and toolset for taking Geospatial technology to the next levels. We have an Azure Cloud environment and are working closely with other teams in the Digital Business Unit to secure optimalisation of our deliveries.  

   
Typical work tasks can be:  

  • Have system ownership to ArcGIS Enterprise and continuously improve the way we take advantage of Geospatial technology  
  • Have technical responsibility supporting digital projects and end users  
  • Build and mature Geospatial Data Products  
  • Be an enabler for new functionality and solutions  
  • Developing and maintaining the Aker BP GIS platform   
  • Develop new functionalities to add value to the existing user experience  
  • Automation of workflows  
  • Contact point towards key contributors within the Digital Business Unit  
  • Engage in updating and setting standards, policies, and processes   
  • Facilitate and enable community to support and accelerate change  

  

Skills and qualifications:   

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree within Geospatial/GIS (industrial and subject matter experience may compensate for missing formal background)   
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience  
  • Strong technical experience within the ArcGIS platform  
  • Developer background, with good knowledge of Python, JavaScript and SQL  
  • Familiar with Azure ecosystem  
  • Thriving in an environment that is dynamic, and performance driven.  
  • The ability of critical thinking and problem solving   
  • Digital change implementation/execution experience   
  • Oil & Gas Industry Experience is an advantage  
  • High level of proficiency in Norwegian or English, verbal and written.
