Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Analytics Manager (Data Scientist, Manager), with strong expertise in optimization and to join our growing team. As Principal Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists, engineers, and machine learning engineers in developing and implementing data-driven solutions to business problems. You will also be responsible for working with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data analytics initiatives.
Essential Functions:
- Main Accountabilities (List 6-8 major areas of responsibilities in order of importance, and purpose of these activities:
- Design, create, test, and implement complex models and algorithms that drive analytical solutions throughout the organization.
- Lead a team of data specialists.
- Conduct advanced statistical and other analyses to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance.
- Collaborate with business analyst and understand business problems to implement scalable and sustainable solutions.
- Coordinate with MIS, Digital Specialists, and Data Engineers to deliver holistic analytical solutions
- Communicates the design, functioning and output of the analytical models/solutions developed.
- Ensure timely analysis and testing for regular maintenance of solutions over time.
- Communicate data insights to stakeholders.
- Establishes and implements organization, function and/or sub-function short to mid-term (1-3 years) strategy. Projects/initiatives lead have impact on business on a domestic or international scale; Is recognized as an external thought leader within strategic function or discipline.
- Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small teams. Addresses issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.
- Responsible for the roadmap execution and adjustment
- Leads large projects/initiatives; AND/OR provides leadership and direction through managers, professionals and support. Develops or contributes to the development of short to mid term (1-3 years) talent optimization plans to execute on strategies in job area.
- Stakeholders of this role include Leadership team members, business leaders as well as technical experts making highly developed interpersonal & soft skills are important. One should be tech-savvy and business-savvy as well, should understand business, different types of data analytics technologies, apply methods to valuable authentication, prevent frauds. It is crucial to shape data products in alignment with corporate strategy and provide data insights leading to business directions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education/Experience (Identify types and length of education and experience needed to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to accomplish the desired end results. Some examples are education & training, and years of experience):
- Well-versed in Data Science models; Advanced knowledge in math, analytics and computer science, knowledge of machine learning methods, statistical models, advanced data science programming.
- Have scientific and industrial maturity while delivering designs and algorithms to make and quantify cross-organization trade-offs.
- Plays a significant role in developing other juniors, acts as a technical consultant to product managers, and is valued as an asset to any data science projects.
- Domain expert and functional advisor for business stakeholders
- Handle most of the day-to-day communications with the product owners.
- Leads all internal meetings as well as weekly or fortnightly reports on the team’s progress.
- Divide their project into workstreams led by Senior Data Scientists and delegate tasks efficiently. Ensure that the project is well executed, and deliverables are completed according to the timeline.
- It is recommended to understand parallelization, scalability, and complexity analysis.
- Proficient in data science, optimization, machine learning, Python, R, SQL, data analysis, analytical skills, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Advice Business on how to structure the problems/hypotheses they want to address and convert it into an advanced analytics approach including machine learning and optimization components (e.g., Constraints, penalties, and objective function
- Develop business awareness of possible use cases and help them to understand the necessary concepts of data science and optimization to ensure better communication across functions.
- Deep understanding in code optimization, library selection.
