About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced GIS & Data Specialist to join our Network Intelligence team based at our CBD head office in a full time and permanent capacity.
This position will provide subject matter expertise in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) spatial systems and contribute to the system lifecyle strategies and roadmaps across Citipower, Powercor and United Energy. In addition, this role will act as the business owner of the spatial systems and will work to develop and implement system improvements, policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in the utilities industry and working with GE GIS products. In addition, this candidate will have highly developed analytical/problem-solving skills, well-developed verbal, written & interpersonal skills and demonstrated stakeholder management skills.
What you’ll deliver:
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure the systems are appropriately maintained and updated
- Ensure the systems always have functionality that meets or exceeds the business requirements
- As business owner of spatial systems – drive requirement specifications and projects to implement changes and upgrades to system capabilities
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure all relevant data are entered correctly into all relevant systems and in a timely manner
- Develop lifecycle management plans and long-term investment plans for spatial systems to feed into the business planning cycle and business approval process
- Manage stakeholder relationships with Engineers, Asset Management teams, IT teams & Service Delivery, Vendor and Service Providers.
To succeed in this role you’ll have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, e.g., Engineering, Information Technology. Electric Engineering qualification
- Significant relevant industry experience in the electrical utilities industry
- Significant experience in spatial systems, e.g., GE GIS products and Smallworld – (ESRI Cloud, GE SWEG and Magik are desirable)
- Knowledge of planning and economics incl. financial management
- Previous demonstrated experience with SQL Queries
- Knowledge of Tableau dashboard development
- Understanding of Electricity Networks including AMI Metering and Communications Networks (desirable)
