We launched in Australia in early 2022, providing in-store and ecommerce payment solutions to around 60,000 Australian businesses. The Opportunity
The Head of Analytics & Business Intelligence (ABI) is a key leadership role within ANZ Worldline that is responsible for delivering the data strategy for the organisation. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in analytics, data science, and business intelligence, with a proven track record of success within a high transactional volume technology environment, ideally payments or telecoms. The Head of ABI will manage a team across three key areas:
– Data Architecture – responsible for ensuring that the data strategy is delivered technically into our lakehouse.
– Business Delivery – responsible for ensuring that ABI delivers ad-hoc and project related requirements in a timely manner.
– Analytics & Business Intelligence – responsible for delivering all analytics and business intelligence requirements, in the form of reports and data.
The Head of ABI is required to be hands on and this would suit an experienced data architect / engineer that has had exposure to functional / strategic leadership and is wanting to focus more on functional / strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategy and roadmap for ABI and ensure that this is effectively executed to deliver on the Strategic Objectives.
- Act as a strategic adviser to ANZ Worldline executives by providing actionable business insights which drive business growth.
- Work closely and collaborate with Worldline’s global data leaders to define and implement best practices.
- Manage and mentor the ABI team to ensure successful delivery of requirements to stakeholders.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of the lakehouse solution to drive business insights and decision-making.
- Develop and implement all frameworks relating to ABI, including Data Governance and Data Quality.
- Keep abreast of industry good practices and trends, including tools and processes, in so far as it relates to data architecture, data engineering, data science and data analysis.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the payments industry and ANZ Worldline business, systems, services and products.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of data models, dashboards, and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators and business trends to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Experience
- 10+ years within a senior analytics or business intelligence role.
- 5+ years of proven leadership and team management skills.
- 5+ years in payments or technology driven organisation dealing with large volumes of data.
- Experience in data management strategies and data lifecycle design and implementation, preferably DataOps methodology.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Experience in Databricks machine learning environment and MLOps design and implementation.
- Preferably experience in a merchant acquiring, adjacent payments or telecoms organisation.
Competencies & Knowledge
- Excellent database, ETL and data warehousing skills.
- Excellent programming skills, including Python and SQL.
- Excellent skills in existing and emerging data solutions and tools, including Azure, Databricks, Fabric and Power BI.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent commercial awareness and industry knowledge.
- Results driven and ability to work under pressure.
- Deep understanding of data analysis, market trends and strategic decision-making.
- Advanced knowledge of Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Multicultural and flexible mindset with the ability to multi-task and work in an international environment.
Education
- Bachelors Degree (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline).
