Head of Data & Analytics
Job Description
We’re looking for a strategic, dynamic Head of Data & Analytics to join our North Sydney based Transformation & Technology team as on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a new role where you will develop, execute, and lead the Data and Insights function, driving the business transformation agenda through the use of insights, analytics and data-driven decisions.
Reporting directly to our Chief Information Officer, your key responsibilities will include ensuring that our Data and Insights strategic plan supports the business unit and divisional goals and objectives. You will manage the tracking of benefits delivered from analytics across the organisation; the achievement of set performance measures, and the chairing of our data governance function. You’ll also develop, lead and execute projects and initiatives to deliver against agreed outcomes and budgets.
In addition, you will:
- Develop the GWA Data and Insights strategy, priorities and plans that align with overall business unit strategy.
- Implement and execute the Data and Insights plan to lead the business on the transformation journey to evidence based decision-making and the strategic use of data across the organisation.
- Be accountable for the cleansing and transformation of the organisation’s raw data into a useable and consumable format; providing constant high quality data on demand across the business.
- Develop, implement and enhance effective management reports and dashboards to be used across the business, ensuring optimum feedback loops are in place to ensure the continued relevancy of the data.
- Continuously review business processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and automation.
- Lead process reengineering initiatives to optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall operational performance.
- Oversee daily workflow within the Analytics teams by establishing prioritisation models for distributing and completing work requests on time.
- Provide leadership and support to a team of analyst across the organisation from all functions.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team and adoption of analytics in the wider business.
You will also take the lead as we focus on Innovation and Generative AI, including designing, developing, and implementing generative AI models and algorithms; collaborating with cross-functional teams to define AI project requirements and objectives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals; and conducting research to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning techniques and identify opportunities to integrate them into our products and services.
About you
You’re a disruptor, and although you’re a gun strategist you thrive on getting into get into the weeds of a role. You’ll come from a fast-paced industry and, as an experienced leader, have at least 10 years in a similar senior leadership role with capability in the following areas:
- Portfolio and demand prioritisation
- Visualisation development
- Data preparation
- Stakeholder Management
- Data management and analytics SLAs
- Enterprise and functional data and analytics strategy
- Analytics governance including report/model management and validation, standards and tools, data quality management
- Extensive experience with MS Fabric
Alongside your technical experience and capabilities, you’ll be a skilled communicator who can take your stakeholders on the data and insights journey and work collaboratively with all members of our business.
