The Head of Data Digital & Technology (DD&T), Global Oncology Business Unit (OBU) Leader role is a key senior leader in the organization and will partner with Business Unit (BU) Executive Team (TET) members, the CDTO and the extended Data, Digital and Technology leadership teams. S/he is expected and encouraged to develop a deep understanding of Takeda’s business. At the forefront for success in this role is the ability to effectively balance a two-speed environment: the new world of innovation enabled by rapidly changing technology, and the established world of defect-free, stable execution. A deep understanding of our business imperatives is paramount and needs to be balanced with thoughtful and creative disruption through digital technologies and contemporary data analytics capabilities.

This role is instrumental in providing holistic technology solutions, enabled by data and accelerated by digital, to enhance and complement business investments and ultimately the company’s growth and strategic imperatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role leads the Digital, Data & Technology (DD&T) team in support of the Global Oncology BU and is directly accountable to drive the overall digital strategy and innovation to enable the business.

  • Implement the oncology strategic plan as outlined; while looking to continuously improve over time

  • Support the business growth projections from an infrastructure to innovation, looking for AI driven efficiencies and automating processes

  • Support commercial and medical functions inside BU by being a subject matter expert and business partner; suggesting tech solutions and managing support through enterprise teams.

  • Develop and implement contemporary and thoughtful strategies that enable and bring to life our Data and Digital and technology Imperative to fully and creatively unlock the power and potential of the organization

  • Drive Data, Digital & Technology strategy for global functions (e.g commercial, medical, access) and three markets (i.e US, Europe and Japan).

  • Partner with Enterprise Data, digital & technology teams leveraging and re-using capabilities/platforms where applicable.

  • Be a talent attractor, developing and cultivating a followership of technical professionals that embrace change and embed digital technologies into the support and advice offered

  • Set BU/BF Data, Digital & Technology strategy, including identifying and curating BU/BF DD&T goals and needs that can be addressed through digital and analytics use cases, supported by technology and data

  • Ensure BU/BF needs influence shared product, service and platform backlogs managed by Global CDTO org, balancing BU/BF and enterprise value

  • Highlight use cases with cross-BU potential via DD&T Board, increasing impact of BU/BF initiatives across the enterprise

  • Drive delivery of DD&T strategy, with focus on business value, leveraging BU/BF and Group CDTO org resources

  • Steward Oncology DD&T budget, with TCO perspective and optimizing for BU/BF value (while driving adherence to standards)

  • Ensure BU/BF adherence to architecture standards (set by Architecture Council) and data standards (set by Global Data Council)

  • Build and manage high-performing and fit for purpose BU/BF DD&T team with strategic roles that require proximity to end user / business; leverage Group CDTO org talent for other roles, as well as third parties (when internal talent not available)

  • Promote transparency into BU/BF DD&T agenda to the DD&T Board and Architecture Council, incl. identifying opportunities for cross-BU collaboration and reuse

  • Increase digital and analytics literacy of BU/BF talent through targeted capability building and drive adoption of DD&T offerings

  • Ensure BU/BF DD&T talent follows “internal-first” sourcing approach, adheres to global DD&T job families and roles

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field.

  • Minimum of 15+ years experience, with strong analytical, project management, presentation and influencing skills.

  • Knowledge of the health science industry, macro trends, and how health science companies operate across the value chain is preferred.

  • Understanding of how modern technologies can be applied and sourced to add business value in regulated industries with a track record of measurable success will also be considered.

  • Deep understanding of commercial technologies (e.g CRM, omnichannel platforms, master data management).

  • Strong understanding of US pharma patient, account and provider data

  • Track record in leading DD&T talent and delivering major projects / programs

  • Strong understanding of external business environment and industry trends

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$252,000.00 – $396,000.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
