Responsibilities

As an Analytics Engineer Intern for the Product-Led Growth team, you will play a key role in driving the success of our products by developing data models, writing code, monitoring data, and communicating results. You will be primarily responsible for gathering, analyzing, and optimizing data for product launches, understanding user behavior, and providing recommendations for enhancing consumer engagement. Moreover, you will explore technologies like GenAI and their potential applications to augment our product usage datasets.

In this role, you will also be responsible for:

  • DBT Modeling:

    • Design, develop, and maintain data models using dbt (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and analysis, providing accurate and consistent data for end users and stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with Data Analysts and Business Stakeholders to understand their reporting and analysis needs and translate them into DBT models.

    • Maintain our internal dbt conventions and best practices, ensuring our code-base is clean and efficient.

  • Data Reliability and Completeness:

    • Ensure data quality and consistency by implementing robust testing, validation, and cleaning processes on source tables to improve data reliability.

    • Apply data monitoring solutions to ensure data flows and transformations are performing optimally and accurately.

    • Create and maintain data documentation & definitions, including data dictionaries and process flows.

  • Collaboration with Analytics Teams:

    • Partner with data analysts, stakeholders, and other teams to align data insights with product improvements.

    • Communicate complex data patterns and conclusions effectively to internal and external stakeholders, coworkers, and end-users.

    • Evangelize our team’s data models to business users, accelerating their time to insights.

  • Exploring Emerging Technologies:

    • Actively research the applicability of new tools, and technologies, like GenAI, for enhancing data engineering and analysis.

    • Develop and test prototypes that showcase the potential impact of GenAI and similar technologies on our current product usage datasets.

Requirements

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, database knowledge, and understanding of Python. Knowledge of using DBT is a plus.

  • Fast mover and comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment

  • Resourceful in execution and results-oriented

  • Interns who will be able to commit on a full-time basis for at least 6 months will be preferred.

  • Thoughtful team player, a quick learner, and have a “can do” attitude with a growth mindset

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data models, data-driven insights, and issues stakeholders effectively
