Understanding Chronic Kidney Disease Heterogeneity through Genetics

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scout relevant publicly available or internal results of genome-wide association studies (GWAS).
  • Prepare and homogenize GWAS data to ensure accuracy and consistency for further analysis.
  • Develop and implement a data-driven analysis strategy to build genetically homogenous subgroups.
  • Utilize internal large-scale patient cohorts to clinically characterize the identified subgroups. 
  • Engage in close exchange with researchers and clinicians for the interpretation of the findings.

 

WHO YOU ARE

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant quantitative discipline (e.g.: mathematics, statistics, data science, physics, computer science, bioinformatics, biostatistics, engineering, psychology, quantitative social sciences) 
  • First experiences in data pre-processing, data analysis/modelling
  • Good programming skills, preferable in R or Python
  • Interest in biomedical and clinical research questions 
  • Sufficient skills in English to communicate in an international team (German is not mandatory)
  • Preferred: experience in clustering approaches and analyzing genetic data
