We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of Software Engineering. To take our operations to the next level, the BMW GROUP’s – Web Analytics & Data Science department is looking for a Software Engineering intern to empower BMW’s Websites and E-Commerce Platforms. As an intern, you will be part of a network of analysts who support cross-functional agile product teams designing, developing, operating, and optimizing products with data, tools, and analytics.
What awaits you?
- By joining BMW’s Web Analytics & Data Science team, you will gain extensive insights into a globally operating analytics team.
- Design, monitor, and operate data processing pipelines using appropriate cloud services in AWS.
- Provide new ideas to enhance and optimize the data platform infrastructure in our department.
- Work closely with Data Science experts to deploy use cases, programs, and state-of-the-art machine learning models in the cloud.
- Support our team by implementing data delivery solutions to power our internal services (i.e., UI, BI, analytics) with a focus on scalability, speed, and reliability.
- Develop applications that generate insights to support strategic decision-making and better understand the customers’ web-behavior.
What should you bring along?
- Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university studying Software Engineering, Computer Science, Informatics, Data Science (Master’s Degree preferred) or similar programs or in Gap Year.
- Proven experience as a Software/Cloud Engineer or in a similar role and strong understanding of cloud architecture and hands-on experience with AWS services (i.e., Glue, EC2, S3, Step Functions).
- Strong knowledge in at least one backend and frontend programming language (i.e., Python, PySpark, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL).
- Knowledge of web frameworks (i.e., FastAPI, Flask, Dash) and microservices (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud automation.
- Highly proactive and ability to work independently.
