Job Description
Introduction to the job
ASML US bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers – the world’s leading chipmakers – to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, the Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.
The Customer Support (CS) organization is responsible for the installation, qualification, repair and maintenance of the ASML systems at customer sites and is responsible for the necessary transfer of know-how to the customer. Local Customer Support branches perform these tasks for the customers within the specific region.
Roles and responsibilities

Understand the basics of semiconductor manufacturing, especially the Lithography manufacturing process and the importance of ASML’s role.

Learn about ASML’s products and Applications Engineering team’s approach to enable next node developments with our customers.

Obtain customer service skills in an tech industry environment

Interns will typically be required to document and present their findings as well as making an end of summer presentation to the group about what they achieved during their internship.
Potential projects may included:

Optimize work processes using automation (scripts to generate engineering templates or download data from multiple sources for analysis)

Use data analysis to solve complex problems (correlate machine parameters to customer product issues)

Develop dashboards for efficient monitoring (use Spotfire to create and optimize real time monitoring dashboards to monitor system performance)
Education and experience
-
Minimum 60 hours completed (required) towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering field.

Preferred Majors: Physics, Optics, Electronics, Micro-electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or IC manufacturing.

Minimum 6 months experience with MATLAB, Python, or equivalent data analysis software.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
