Position Overview KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative and mission-critical cloud solutions to our customers. As part of a global leader in science, technology, and engineering solutions, you will play a key role in rapidly migrating physical/on-premises infrastructure to AWS using a “lift and shift” approach.

After initial migration, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to modernize and optimize cloud workloads. All projects will be completed using Agile methodology, ensuring iterative delivery, continuous improvement, and close collaboration with stakeholders. Responsibilities Support the rapid migration (lift and shift) of physical and on-premises infrastructure to AWS cloud environments.

Assist in the development and maintenance of tools for provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de-provisioning AWS cloud infrastructure using automation tools. Work closely with solution architects and engineers to implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS cloud solutions. Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines using industry-standard tools like GitLab Runners or similar.

Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. Support the configuration and automation of AWS environments using tools like Ansible.

Troubleshoot and provide support for cloud-based applications in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Contribute to documentation and process improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Identify and implement AWS cloud cost optimization strategies, incorporating FinOps principles where applicable.

Participate in ongoing modernization efforts, refactoring and enhancing cloud workloads to leverage AWS-native services and best practices. Collaborate within Agile teams, participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, and deliver incremental value through iterative development.
