About the role

We are looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our growing Commercial Analytics team.

As our new Junior Data Analyst, you will work closely with Operations managers and teams to ensure that data insights are driving business decisions. You will be responsible for improving our current processes by providing timely and effective insights to recommend how to optimise our business.

This is a unique opportunity to develop industry-leading approaches to fulfil our mission of building the car market of tomorrow through data-driven decision-making.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with Operational teams to understand business needs and provide insights that drive decision-making, through effective stakeholder management and relationship building
  • Develop and execute data queries to extract relevant data from our internal databases and Google BigQuery data warehouse (primarily using SQL and dbt)
  • Clean, transform, and analyse data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization
  • Build data visualisations and dashboards for stakeholders to monitor KPIs and facilitate data-driven decision making on business performance and trends
  • Spot areas for improvement and propose new opportunities through critical insights, using experimentation to measure the effect of proposed operational changes
  • Working with our analytics engineers to ingest new data sources into our data stack for analytics
  • Learn industry best practice and advanced analytical techniques

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data
  • Proficient in SQL and experience querying large data sets
  • An eye for detail that produces in-depth analysis that goes beyond the initial questions of stakeholders to deliver new and actionable insight
  • Mathematical and statistical knowledge to understand different statistical tests to validate experimental results, either from an academic background or through on-the-job experience
  • Excellent communication skills: The ability to articulate complex concepts both verbally and in-writing to stakeholders and colleagues at different levels of seniority
  • Stakeholder management experience and the ability to foster and maintain meaningful stakeholder relationship across the business
  • A self-starter mindset: Comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work to tight deadlines and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • The motivation to make a big impact on our business and a passion for using data to effectively support business decision-making
  • Using Python or R to conduct Advanced Analytics a plus
  • Experience of designing and building impactful BI dashboards using Looker or Tableau that serve technical and non-technical audiences also a plus
