Job Description
The purpose of the role is to manage a substantial amount of data, perform data preparation, statistical analysis and quality checks to update the GfK Geomarketing regional market data product portfolio and visualize regional data. GfK GeoMarketing provides regional data such as purchasing power or other socio-demographic data on granular level.
You will:
- Prepare data, perform statistical evaluations and quality checks
- Run data analysis and statistical modellings (in the statistical software R) for calculate purchasing power or other socio-demographic data
- Create thematic maps with GIS
- Research international regional data and explore new data sources
- Update the research database, systematically check for terms of use and document the quality of the data
- Document, support and optimize internal workflows
You have:
- University degree in Geography, Statistics, Economics or Social Sciences any other related areа (preferably with an emphasis on statistics and data analysis)
- Interest in location-related topics, geomarketing and market research as well as economics and macro-economics
- Interest in learning (geo-)statistics with corresponding software R
- Knowledge of statistics
- Experience in R (must) and willing to learn the processing of geodata in R
- Experience with spatial data analysis and/or GIS software – (e.g. QGIS) will be considered as an advantage
- High affinity for numbers and data
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Independent, accurate and structured way of working
- Distinct ability to work in a virtual team
- Very good knowledge of English (B2 – C1), additional languages are a plus
