Located in Gdansk, you’ll be a part of the Platforms ART within the IT Solutions department. Our team is the Center for Enablement for Data & Analytics at Arla, offering guidance on data setup and enhancing platform capabilities. We aim to enable faster and better decision-making through data, ensuring a single source of truth for Arla.

 

How You Will Make an Impact:
As a Junior Data Engineer, you’ll join a supportive team focused on designing, developing, and supporting Arla’s Data & Analytics Platforms, known as the Data Foundation. You’ll work closely with senior colleagues, Engineers, Solution Architects, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to explore new tools and continuously improve our solutions.

 

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on Requirements: Work with internal customers to define analytics and business needs.
  • Handle and Clean Data: Capture, orchestrate, and cleanse data to meet business requirements.
  • Learn to Build ETL Pipelines: Utilize Azure PaaS tools, SQL, and/or Python within a Spark-based platform, under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Develop Cloud Solutions: Contribute to the design and support of cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Implement CI/CD: Assist in setting up continuous integration and deployment, automated tests, and build pipelines, with a focus on learning.
  • Documentation and Testing: Ensure thorough documentation and unit testing of your work.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud services, Python, Java, Scala, or another programming language.
  • Familiarity with SQL and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with version control tools like Git.
  • Understanding of data modeling and pipeline technologies.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with streaming data pipelines and serverless components.
  • Exposure to RESTful APIs.
  • Interest in agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
