Position Summary
The position assists with performing statistical analysis, identifying trends, and developing visualizations by integrating machine learning and AI technologies into modelling large datasets.
Job Responsibilities
- Contributes to designing, prototyping, and developing scalable AI-based software solutions for medical applications.
- Assists in enhancing software functionality and user experience by leveraging analytics, machine learning models, cloud computing and large language models.
- Participates in scripting, coding, testing models, and programming to clean, process, analyze and visualize datasets.
- Conducts data analysis and modeling to identify trends, patterns, and draw insights from large datasets.
- Carries out data validation and statistical analysis to ensure consistency, quality, and reliability of data.
- Liaises with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers, to ensure seamless integration of AI technologies.
- Stays abreast of the latest AI trends and technologies and applies this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
- Assists the research partners in implementing projects with medical institutions like Hamad Medical Corporation, Sidra etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, data science or related field with 2 – 5 years of relevant experience.
Previous experience with AI, machine learning or large language models is highly desirable.
Previous experience in research or biomedical data analysis is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in a range of software tooling and programming languages, such as Python, R, SQL, and Java.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and understanding of cloud architecture for deploying scalable applications.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and analytics tools.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite of products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar was established in 2001 as a partnership between Cornell University and Qatar Foundation (QF). The first medical school in Qatar and a pioneer of coeducation at the university level, WCM-Q offers an integrated Six-Year Medical Program that incorporates pre-medical and medical studies and leads to the Cornell University M.D. degree.
Teaching is by Cornell and Weill Cornell faculty, including physicians at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) who hold Weill Cornell appointments. Enrollment has grown rapidly from 25 first-year pre-medical students in the fall of 2002 to over 300 students from more than 30 countries today.
