Job Description
Junior Pricing Data Analyst – Technical Pricing The insurance industry is undergoing a technology revolution and you will be in the driver’s seat with Pricing Transformation team. The team is focused on accelerating Aviva’s pricing sophistication journey in collaboration with our Data Science and Personal Insurance Pricing teams.
A reliable, accurate, complete Pricing database is your mandate as a Junior Pricing Data Analyst. We are looking for motivated individuals who are result-oriented, curious, analytical, and enjoy working towards the same goal with the team. You serve as a data use specialist for Pricing and make recommendation on data usage based on your comprehensive understanding of the databases and our organization.
Responsibilities :
Improving Database You collaborate with engineers and data users to analyze patterns and relationship between data fields, paying particular attention to trends and patterns that could be valuable for diagnostics. You interpret results, assess impact, drive discussion, and propose remediation plans.
Improving Data Usage :
You build and advocate for common data definitions and data validation best practices.
You seek every opportunity to share your knowledge with the broader Pricing team to improve our data literacy competencies.
Improving Business Decision :
You act as a translator to explain complex technical information business-oriented audience can understand, build a common understanding of impact and evaluate solutions. You demonstrate the significance of our work.
As a Pricing Data Analyst, you will need the following knowledge and skills to succeed in the role
• Education – Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields (Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analysis, etc.)
• Experience – 5+ years of working experience in data manipulation, validation, analysis, and interpretation in insurance or other financial services is an asset
• Programming – proficiency in SAS Enterprise Guide, SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel.
• Data storytelling – ability to communicate well and present findings and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audience. Exposure to data visualization tool is an asset
Statistical analysis – ability to identify the patterns in data; a good understanding of anomaly and pattern detection
• Critical thinking – ability to analyze the situation, seek key information and make decisions based on available information
• Business acumen – ability to connect with stakeholders and collect and disseminate business requirements into data deliveries
• A self-starter – ownership of work and ability to independently execute end-to-end deliverables
• Prioritization – Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadline; proactively discuss work prioritization with managers
