Lead Data Analyst – Pricing

We are the Flutter UK & Ireland Trading Team – we predict the unpredictable, we think different, and put our customers first, through innovative solutions and powering the performance of our brands Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Betting & Gaming.  This Lead Analyst role is based in the pricing function, which is a high performing team responsible for the delivery of new pricing strategies across the Flutter UKI brands.

What you’ll do
Reporting to the Principal Data Analyst in the pricing function, you will support developing experimentation hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation and analyses, and surfacing insights.

You will work within the UKI Trading function, connecting with colleagues from across the organisation to solve complex pricing problems and to identify new opportunities for pricing optimisation.

How you will do it…

  • Utilise advanced analytics and data manipulation software to analyse experimental data, identify trends, and derive meaningful conclusions
  • Set up and define experiments, ensuring robust trial methodologies that yield actionable insights
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of experimental designs, methodologies, and results to ensure transparency and reproducibility
  • Continuously monitor experiments, tracking key performance indicators and adjusting methodologies as necessary to optimize outcomes
  • Prepare and present findings to stakeholders, clearly communicating the implications of pricing experiments on business strategies
  • Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams, including commercial, finance, and product development, to align data insights with business objectives.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proficiency in multiple advanced analytics and data manipulation tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Excel, Tableau)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a demonstrable ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Excellent documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to create clear and concise reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to finding opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to manage and own multiple data and analytics assets simultaneously and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative mentality, adept at fostering strong and effective relationships within the Pricing team and throughout the organization, regardless of level.
  • Ideally, experience working on pricing and/or pricing strategy projects in a large business setting
  • Ideally, experience with experiment design and parameter definition (sampling, control vs. test groups, front-end product changes)
  • Ideally, experience in advanced statistical modelling techniques (e.g. regression, significant testing, clustering, A/B testing, time series analysis)
