Lead Data Engineer
What does successful Lead Data Engineer do at Fiserv?
You will lead large-scale data engineering, integration, and warehousing projects. You will build custom integrations between cloud-based systems using APIs and write complex and efficient queries to transform raw data sources into easily accessible models by using the Data integration tool with coding across several languages such as Java, Python, and SQL.
What you will do:
- Lead a team of data engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Architect and implement data models, ETL processes, and data integration solutions to support business objectives
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members; foster a culture of continuous learning and development
- Participate with coding, testing, and debugging complex data engineering solutions
- Be current with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and recommend adoption where applicable
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, coding standards, and software development methodologies to deliver high-quality and scalable software solutions
- Monitor and analyze software development metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track team productivity, efficiency, and code quality
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years of experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban, and experience in transitioning teams to these methodologies
- 8+ years of experience with solutions for processing large volumes of data, using data processing tools and Big Data platforms
- 8+ years of experience with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, and knowledge of deploying and managing APIs in a cloud environment
- 7+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within software development or software engineering
- Experience with software architecture, design patterns, and modern software development languages and frameworks and proven track record of building and managing high-performing software development teams
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience with Big Data tools and solutions
- Experience with relational modeling, dimensional modeling of unstructured data
- Familiar with or knowledge of cluster and parallel architecture as well as high-scale or distributed RDBMS, SQL, and NoSQL Databases such as Cassandra, HBase, DynamoDB, and Elastic Search experience
- Experience in design and architecture review in the banking and financial domains
