Job Description

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data architectures using Data Vault 2.0 methodology and dimensional modelling techniques. You will work on automating data pipelines and optimizing data flows to support analytics, reporting, and other business needs. This role requires strong collaboration with business stakeholders and engineering teams.

Salary range: 65-85K£


Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy automated ETL/ELT data pipelines using Data Vault 2.0.
  • Develop efficient data models using dimensional modelling techniques.
  • Automate and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and validation processes.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security following data governance best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.


What we’re looking for in our applicants: 

  • At least 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Data Vault 2.0: Hands-on experience in designing and deploying data architectures.
  • Proven expertise in building and automating ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong experience with dimensional data modelling.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Experience with data integration tools like Airflow, Talend, or DBT.
  • Strong understanding of data security and governance practices.

Good to have:

  • Python or Scala for data processing.
  • Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
