Responsibilities

  • Lead the Development of Data-Driven Solutions

        – Analyze wind turbine performance using advanced data science and machine learning techniques to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime

        – Design, develop, and deploy prognostic and diagnostic algorithms to support predictive maintenance and improve turbine performance

  • Develop and Implement Verification Tools

        – Lead the creation of innovative verification tools and methodologies for field validation of software features

        – Collaborate with the software development teams to ensure accuracy and functionality of new software implementations

  • Drive Strategic Decision-Making

        – Create and deliver data-driven decision support tools and actionable insights for leadership to guide key business and operational strategies

        – Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets to uncover trends and inform strategic initiatives

  • Provide Analytics Support for High-Profile Issues

        – Serve as the primary point of contact for providing analytics support to cross-functional teams during high-profile or time-sensitive projects

  • Lead and Mentor the Data Science Team

        – Oversee and mentor a team of data scientists, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and fostering continuous learning and development within the team

        – Advocate for and implement best practices in data analysis, machine learning, and model development

  • Contribute to Agile Software Projects

        – Work closely with agile software teams to contribute to backlog prioritization and the technical execution of software projects, ensuring that data science initiatives align with business objectives

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering impactful results
  • Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, with experience in machine learning frameworks and statistical analysis software (e.g., SQL, SAS)
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms, preferably in the renewable energy or wind turbine sector
  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Grafana, Power BI) and experience presenting insights to leadership and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading or mentoring data science teams, with strong leadership and project management skills
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to diverse audiences
