 The People Analytics team at Humana takes a customer centric approach to optimizing talent outcomes and improving the associate experience. We provide advanced analytic products and consulting to our Enterprise business leaders and HR centers of excellence. The Lead Data Scientist will enhance and mature the vision of People Analytics at Humana.  The lead drives analytic value by working with business customers to identify and prioritize advanced analytic use cases. They will deliver analytic output, design and develop new measures and predictive models to influence and guide people strategy across the enterprise. The lead will collaborate and consult with executives in the business, set objectives, inform strategy, and execute on a customer-centric approach of delivery.

Responsibilities

  • The Lead Data Scientist develops, maintains, and collects structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting.

  • Creates reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics.

  • Works directly with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies.

  • Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert is able to work at very high levels across multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree and 4 or more years of experience in data analytics

  • 2 or more years project and/or people leadership experience

  • Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions

  • Advanced proficiency in programming languages like SQL, Python, R, SAS, SPSS, etc.

  • Innovative thinker who can provide strategic advice and guidance to functional teams

  • Develop, maintain, and collect structured and unstructured data sets for analysis and reporting

  • Create reports, projections, models, and presentations to support business strategy and tactics

  • Successful demonstrated experience in working with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies

  • Ability to advise one or more areas, programs or functions, as well as work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology or a related field

  • 10 or more years of experience in organizational consulting

  • 5 or more years of experience working with organizational surveys and related research methodologies

  • Advanced knowledge of organizational theory, employee behavior, and psychometrics

  • Experience with people systems and technologies

Work-At-Home Requirements:  

To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:  

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

HireVue allows us to quickly connect and gain valuable information for you pertaining to your relevant skills and experience at a time that is best for your schedule.

If you are selected for a first-round interview, you will receive an email correspondence inviting you to participate in a HireVue interview.  In this interview, you will receive a set of interview questions over your phone or via email to complete. Some of the questions may require longer responses and using a computer vs phone to type responses may work best. You should expect this interview to take about 15-20 minutes. Your recorded interview will be reviewed, and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to the next round of interviews.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

 

 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
