Job Description
The Core AI & Data Platforms Team has been established to create, operate, and run the Enterprise AI, BI & Data platforms that accelerate time to market for reporting, analytics, and data science teams. The BI Platform aims to foster a culture of innovation, enabling rapid development of BI solutions, and driving transformative outcomes for stakeholders. It serves as a comprehensive ecosystem of collaborative services, tools, and infrastructure, empowering both technical and non-technical users to seamlessly develop, evaluate, and deploy BI reporting solutions tailored to various business use cases and personas. Join us in leading the charge to drive BI tools adoption across the organization. You’ll advocate for best practices, provide expert guidance on tool usage, and offer technical assistance on industry-leading tools like Tableau, Power BI & Alteryx. Not only will you support these SAAS tools, but you’ll also have the opportunity to build innovative solutions supporting our end users.
About the Role:
In this opportunity as a Lead Software Engineer, BI Platform, you will:
- You will act as a subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, impactful BI reporting solutions.
- Lead the design and architecture of complex Power BI solutions, including data modelling, data integration, and report development.
- Understand and manage Power BI fabric licensing in collaboration with internal CIO team to ensure compliance and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive Microsoft Fabric centric discussions across organisation to enable and guide users to use fabric services
- Define and implement best practices for data governance, security, and performance optimization within the Power BI environment.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, translate them into actionable insights, and develop compelling data visualizations
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including business leaders, data analysts, data engineers
- Automate manual task using Power platform tools
- Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct workshops and training sessions to educate stakeholders on best practices for data analysis and report consumption
- Guide and mentor junior team members on Power BI development best practices and methodologies
About You
You’re a fit for the role of Lead Software Engineer, BI Platform if you meet all or most of these criteria:
- 9+ years of hands-on experience in Business Intelligence and Data Visualization, with a strong focus on Power BI
- Hands-on experience on power platform tools like Power automate and power apps tools
- Deep expertise in all aspects of Power BI development, including data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and report authoring
- Proven experience in leading the design and implementation of complex Power BI solutions
- In depth knowledge on data model performance tuning
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge on fabric and power bi licensing is a huge plus
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration methodologies
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database platforms (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server).
- Experience with Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate) and their integration with Power BI.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) is a plus
