Role Summary
We are looking for a self-starter who is driven to work on cutting edge products for the legal market to join our Editorial Innovation team at Thomson Reuters. The ideal candidate has experience as an associate in a law firm or has done equivalent work as a legal editor at Thomson Reuters and should:
- Be comfortable working across a broad range of legal issues and practice areas in the US.
- Have a passion for innovation.
- Want to work in legal technology and publishing to support the development of products that address and solve our customers’ problems.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Legal Content Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting various AI initiatives for Practical Law and other Thomson Reuters product teams by leveraging your legal knowledge, practice experience, and familiarity with AI and other technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs). Working with our expert attorney editors and development teams, primary responsibilities include:
- Producing, reviewing, and analyzing Practical Law content and other data to support efforts to leverage AI technology to enhance product offerings.
- Evaluating and analyzing experiment results to identify areas of improvement for model performance, product enhancements, and new product features.
- Supporting efforts to effectively use and integrate LLMs into new product features and enhancements. These efforts will include creating, testing, and refining prompts to deliver accurate and sufficient responses and collaborating across teams to determine the most effective way to integrate and leverage LLMs to develop innovative solutions.
- Providing substantive editorial expertise and subject matter knowledge for additional tasks and projects across Practical Law Editorial and the AI Editorial organization.
About You
You are a fit for the role of Legal Content Analyst if your background includes:
- J.D. from an accredited institution and are licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction in the United States.
- Two or more years’ experience in a law firm and/or in an editorial role at Thomson Reuters requiring legal knowledge and practice experience resulting in:
- A working understanding of one or more practice areas.
- Experience with the tasks attorneys generally perform on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to identify key information from sources.
- The ability to organize and present information in a clear and structured manner.
- Ability to work efficiently and within deadlines and communicate effectively across teams.
- A passion for developing and applying legal technology to solving our customers’ problems.
- Proficiency in and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and other tools.
- Ability to work flexibly in an agile product development environment.
