Job Title: Linguist II

Location: Redmond WA

Job Description: Summary

  • We are looking for 1 linguist to help us measure the quality of AI components for a variety of voice-enabled technologies and products.
  • We are seeking candidates with strong linguistic data analysis and language technology experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee labeling flows that provide signal to quality of user interactions with voice-enabled technologies.
  • Create guidelines in support of labeling projects that allow vendor labelers to consistently label language, visual, and system data at quality Analyze labeling quality and adjust guidelines as necessary to ensure labeling quality. Enforce labeling standards Report to cross-functional team on the quality of voice-enabled technologies, including identifying areas for investment and improvement.
  • Skills:
  • Data analysis on linguistic data sets at a large scale Ability to work in ambiguous space and develop norms and processes Knowledge of prescriptive writing and punctuation conventions for at least one language.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn about prompt engineering strategies for LLM models.

Good to have skills:

  • Programming experience such as python, PHP, or Javascript

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, or related field.
  • Experience with corpus linguistics in an applied setting
