Job Description

– Developing and leading a high performing team, creating an environment for success by setting direction and coaching them to succeed through inspiring conversations every day. (Refer to the expectations of a manager at Tesco- the minimum standards) – Initiates and designs continuous improvements initiatives to drive performance within their teams – Accountable for achieving teams objectives, stakeholder management and escalation management. – Making decisions within policy and procedure framework to deliver business plans. – Managing Location Planning local data, spatial data and databases, through maintaining regular data loading processes, ensuring the team have access to this information. – Manage data we purchase externally, continually looking for new sources which can add benefit to decision making – Understanding local performance of stores through analysis of their catchment and performance, using this to create insight or simple local models when required. – Working with the GPP shared service team to implement the global technology plan locally, through providing training and access to local data; and feeding back local requirements and suggestions for improvements. – Become the technical expert in our key tools and platforms (Excel, Teradata, Hadoop, SQL Server, Alteryx, ArcGIS) and support in training and coaching my fellow team members, through sharing knowledge, experience and technical expertise. – Solutioning and Documenting Location Planning’s data, processes & tools. – Identifying opportunities & developing solutions to improve our ways of working including processes, training, tools and systems, implementing simplified processes. – Providing access of our local data to other functions so they can make better decisions.

Qualifications

– SQL / Excel/ Alteryx and strong IT skills. GIS Data Analysis (ArcGIS) beneficial. – Understanding of demographic and spatial data. – Able to confidently communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences, in both the written and verbal form – Engage with Business Partners for Project requirement gathering, ideation and solutioning.
– 8-15 of experience in Data Management & Solutioning – Previous experience within a role that incorporates understanding of Retail/Real Estate Business, Locational and/or spatial data.
