As a part of the global research organization, our AI research department in Silicon Valley focuses on Foundation Models, Big Data Visual Analytics, Explainable AI (XAI), Natural Language Processing, 3D Perception & Mixed Reality, Cloud Robotics, Data Science, AI Platform, and Time-series Analysis. We develop scalable, intelligent, and trustworthy AIoT solutions to enable inspiring UX for Bosch products and services in application areas such as automated driving, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), robotics, smart manufacturing, enterprise AI, health care, smart home and building solutions.
Our engineering team is looking for an experienced MLOps Engineer who is passionate about automating machine learning pipelines and building cutting edge AI software applications. Your work will help researchers make breakthroughs in the field of machine learning as well as bring new innovations to Bosch business units at scale.
Job Description
- Communicate with various stakeholders to identify requirements for machine learning tools, frameworks, and services
- Work with an international team of engineers to develop and maintain scalable infrastructure for training, monitoring, and deploying machine learning workloads
- Work with research scientists to build foundation model powered AI tools for internal Bosch customers
- Build efficient data selection and auto-labeling tools to produce high-quality data for model training
- Develop machine learning pipelines to adapt and distill foundation models for specific domains (e.g. manufacturing, automotive)
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code quality and system performance
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in machine learning with a focus on foundation models
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical Field
- 1+ years experience as a Machine Learning engineer (Python preferred)
- MLOps tooling experience (MLFlow, Weights & Biases, etc.)
- Orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider and their ML-specific offerings (Azure/AzureML)
- Experience training and deploying deep learning models
- Experience with popular foundation model architectures
- Rapid prototyping experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience as a Machine Learning Engineer
- Experience training foundation models
- Software monitoring experience (Prometheus or similar)
- Experience building data management software tooling for machine learning use cases
- Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD experience (Terraform, Flux, Github Actions)
- Experience working in an Agile team

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 – $160,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
