Manager, Business Intelligence
Job Description
We are headquartered in Seattle, but are open to a remote location depending on role and if a candidate resides in a state in which we currently employ.
The JobThe Manager, Business Intelligence will be responsible for strategy, planning and execution for one of the most critical aspects of our business. This is a unique opportunity to engage with Omnidian’s leadership and executive team to provide cross-functional insights and reporting.
What You’ll Do

- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership, operational, and engineering teams
- Understand needs and translate them into business and technical requirements.
- Prioritize work according to impact and effort
- Communicate and deliver on prioritization with the team
- Provide reporting to Operations, Finance and Sales to support critical business decisions
- Standardize, automate and improve internal and external reporting and provide strategy and support for self-service visualization work
- Evaluate visualization tools
- Design and implement datasets, metrics, and dashboards to support stakeholder needs, analyze the energy performance of large portfolios of photovoltaic systems, and analyze service operations performance and costs
- Maintain and upgrade existing dashboards and data visualizations
- Collaborate with Data Management team to create and maintain data quality and governance
- Work with data engineering team to prioritize and contribute to ELT pipelines
- Distill Insights from cross functional business exposure into research that informs strategy
- Create data driven stories and presentations and act as ambassador for Data Quality and Data Governance
- Communicate & present insights to key stakeholders to support business goals
- Lead a small team of one direct report, and more as we scale

- Proficient in translating complex user requests into technical requirements and performing detailed root cause analysis on data and processes.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of identifying opportunities for improvement and effectively communicating findings.
- A dedicated leader capable of supporting and guiding a small team with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional project management skills, able to plan, track progress, and adapt to changing priorities with a bias for action.
- Skilled in giving and receiving constructive feedback, fostering a collaborative and improvement-driven team environment.
- Action-oriented and entrepreneurial, with the ability to cut through roadblocks while documenting your steps.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to listen deeply and ask the right questions to uncover the root cause of issues.
- Demonstrated capability in process improvement, from consolidating reports to enhancing operational efficiency.

Experience You’ll Need
- 5+ years of strong experience with Sigma or similar BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- 3+ years of strong SQL skills for writing, updating, and optimizing queries.
- 2+ years of proficiency in Python, particularly with analytical packages (pyspark, pandas, numpy, matplotlib).
- 2+ years of experience with Databricks or similar Data Lake/Warehouse tools (e.g., Snowflake, Bigquery, Redshift).
- 1+ year of experience with Spark.
- Proficiency in Excel & Google Sheets.
- Experience in collaborating with data management and data governance teams to implement standards in BI tools.
- 4+ years in formal or informal leadership roles
- 2+ years directly managing employees
Experience That’s a Plus
- Experience in the energy industry, particularly solar, or in a B2B service business
- Familiarity with Salesforce and its data model.
- Experience supporting Time Series data
- Experience working with unstructured data
- Experience working in AWS, GCP or Azure
- Experience evaluating, standing up and/or migrating to a new BI platform
- Familiarity with Data Governance concepts such as Master Data Management, Data Lineage, Data Quality, Data Catalog, and Data Access Policies
