Data Science Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Science Manager with a knack for leading high-impact projects and a passion for delivering data-driven insights. You will head our dynamic data science team, steering projects from the ground up – everything from gathering and processing data to crafting and implementing machine learning models. By fostering collaboration across departments, you will drive new business opportunities and spearhead a culture of informed decision-making across the organization.

Job Duties

  • Engage with CP & ESG business leaders and cross-functional teams to gain a deep understanding of priorities and insights essential for enhancing customer experience and optimizing operational efficiency. Your insights will drive initiatives in Professional Services, Product Development, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Collaborate closely with members of the Strategy and Corporate Development team within CP & ESG, aiding in the delivery of valuable insights that empower the team to make critical business decisions.
  • Forge a strong partnership with the CP & ESG CFO, delivering actionable insights and creating automated reporting solutions for monthly and quarterly meetings.
  • Build alliance with the Sales Operations team to assist in the seamless migration of various systems into a unified platform and craft a robust migration process.
  • Develop data-driven solutions, design efficient processes, build predictive models, and rigorously test hypotheses. Contribute to continuous process improvement, collaborating with technical teams to enhance systems, methods, and capabilities.
  • Mentor and lead a team of data scientists and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation. You will be the lynchpin in delivering insights that inform business decisions, leveraging data to guide the company’s strategic direction.
  • Take charge of onboarding, coaching, and inspiring team members to drive quality and efficiency in project delivery. Set and manage goals, oversee day-to-day work assignments, and provide performance feedback. Expand the team as necessary to meet evolving demands.

Job Skills

  • Comprehensive Business Insight: Understanding of our business, industry trends and competitive landscape. Familiarity with our products and market strategies is essential.
  • Advanced Analytical Toolkit: Expertise in data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Proficiency in Python, SQL, cloud data management (AWS, Azure) and analytics platforms (Excel Tableau, Power Bi, Einstein etc.)
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong management skills to lead and expand the team, complemented by exceptional ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience managing a team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for presentations, trainings and workshops.

Does this position have any direct reports? Yes. This position at this stage has 4 data scientists reporting into it.

Is travel required for this position? Yes.  Although, the amount of travel of required will be less than 10%. The travel may be needed for executive presentations, trainings, and change management workshops.
