Job Description
This position supports the global MAST Program by assisting in data analysis efforts, driving data consolidation, analyzing operational data, and providing insights into asset performance, HESS, and other key operational activities on MAST vessels. The role involves unifying siloed data from multiple databases and teams and leveraging technical expertise in data warehousing and SQL programming to build efficient data models to deliver actionable insights.
In this role, the Data Analyst will collaborate closely with the MAST Reporting Senior Manager, MAST Analyst, and global IT, brand, and business teams to manage large data sets, create dashboards, and analyze data.
Essential Functions:
- Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Assist in the creation of data visualizations and interactive dashboards using Power BI.
- Work closely with the senior manager to gather requirements and ensure reports are aligned with business needs, providing clear insights to support decision-making.
- Support the automation of reports to improve efficiency and accuracy, reducing manual effort.
- Replicate best practices and learnings from dashboards across different departments/functions.
- Data Processing/Consolidation:
- Create SQL queries to build customized reports from various databases to support asset analysis and benefit realization.
- Assist in centralizing and organizing data from multiple systems (including AMOS and Oracle) into a unified data structure.
- Create SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data, ensuring data pipelines are efficient and well-maintained for accurate reporting and analysis.
- Data Maintenance:
- Support the design and maintenance of data models that integrate various operational data sources, such as maintenance, asset performance, and inventory data. Ensure that these data models are efficient, scalable, and provide a solid foundation for in-depth analysis across the MAST Program.
- Monitor and ensure data is organized, clean, and ready for analysis.
- Process Improvement Support:
- Provide technical support for various improvement projects by analyzing data, identifying bottlenecks, and offering solutions.
- Track the progress of improvement initiatives and report on key metrics.
- Work closely with senior manager to identify opportunities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the MAST Reporting unit.
- Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Reporting:
- Compile and prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for MAST and Brand leadership, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all reports.
- Create repeatable processes for delivering monthly and quarterly reporting packages.
- Respond to ad-hoc data and analysis needs while supporting various projects and automating manual reports where possible.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, data warehousing, and SQL programming.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL, ETL pipelines, and data architecture. Ability to work with large, complex datasets and create scalable data solutions. Proficiency in extracting and manipulating data across systems.
- Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to analyze trends, identify patterns, and create actionable insights. High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Communication – Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Automation & Efficiency: Proven track record in automating data reporting and creating streamlined processes for data analysis.
- Collaborative Problem-Solver: Ability to work cross-functionally with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to solve complex data problems and deliver impactful insights.
Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
Travel: Less than 25% non-shipboard travel likely.
Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida from Tuesday through Thursday. Employees may work from home on Mondays and Fridays. Some positions may require additional in-office time each week and final schedule is determined by your leader. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
