What You’ll DoAre you ready to ensure seamless communication and mobility for a global law firm? As a Messaging Engineer II at Kirkland & Ellis, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting, engineering, and optimizing our messaging infrastructure and mobile device management platforms. You’ll resolve complex technical challenges, provide expert support to end-users and internal teams, and help drive innovation in messaging and mobility across our global officesThis role requires proactive monitoring, performance reporting, and collaboration with security, architecture, and infrastructure teams to maintain best-in-class messaging systems.

You’ll also participate in critical projects and production changes, ensuring systems remain reliable, secure, and high-performing. Support & Troubleshoot: Monitor, triage, and resolve escalated user support requests through email, phone, and our IT Service Management system.

Provide timely updates and solutions to end-users. Collaborate with Teams & Vendors: Work with attorneys, staff, and vendors to escalate and resolve complex issues. Partner with infrastructure, applications, and security teams to maintain messaging and mobility standards.

Drive Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve system functionality, reliability, and end-user experience. Document platform standards and share best practices. Project Participation: Provide expertise for messaging and mobile technology projects.

Execute production changes and document implementation steps for future reference. System Monitoring & Reporting: Proactively monitor systems for performance and stability.

Generate reports for capacity planning and performance metrics. Stay Current on Technology: Maintain knowledge of emerging messaging and mobile device technologies. Implement new software and tools as required.

Security Collaboration: Partner with Security Governance and Security Operations teams to ensure compliance and maintain email and mobile device security. The schedule for this position includes:Participation in the team’s on-call rotation with 24×7 availability for escalations. Monthly maintenance during designated weekend periods.

What You’ll BringEducation: BA/BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience: 5+ years supporting major messaging implementations in large corporate environments. Messaging Expertise: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server, Exchange Online, SMTP, Proofpoint, and related messaging systems.

Mobile Device Management: Hands-on experience with platforms such as Microsoft Intune and managing Apple iPhones/iPads in enterprise settings. Infrastructure Skills: Solid understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, and PowerShell scripting/automation. Global Implementation Experience: Ability to take a messaging architecture and implement it across multiple offices and populations.
