Microsoft Power BI Expert (Consultant Role with Keystone Solutions)

Location: Brussels (Remote work possible)

Role Overview:
Keystone Solutions is seeking a Microsoft Power BI expert to join our team for a consultancy mission with our client. As a Keystone Solutions consultant, you will implement a Power BI governance framework, ensuring seamless integration, scalability, and security. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely (partially) while engaging in weekly team meetings in Brussels.

Key Responsibilities:

Architectural Design Review:

  • Evaluate the architectural blueprint for Power BI governance.
  • Ensure alignment with the client’s business and technical requirements.

Environment Setup:

  • Establish development, testing, validation, and production environments (DEV, QA, VAL, PROD).
  • Configure workspaces in Power BI Service with appropriate naming conventions and access controls.

Data Integration:

  • Connect to data sources (Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, SAP BW).
  • Configure data gateways for secure data transfer.

Governance Framework Implementation:

  • Define roles and responsibilities (e.g., Report Consumer, Report Builder, Power BI Analyst, Master, Administrator).
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and row-level security (RLS).
  • Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for data quality, endorsements, certification, and discoverability.

Development and Deployment Processes:

  • Implement a DevOps framework for iterative development, testing, and deployment.
  • Use deployment pipelines in Power BI Service to automate content promotion.
  • Integrate Azure DevOps for version control and backup.

Monitoring and Alerting:

  • Set up monitoring tools to track user activity, report views, data refreshes, and resource utilization.
  • Configure alerts for specific metrics or events.

Training and Documentation:

  • Conduct training sessions for various user roles.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation covering the governance framework, development guidelines, best practices, and user manuals.
